In 2008, Jack Rodenburg retired from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Extension Service, and started DairyLogix, as a way to stay involved with new developments in dairy technology and management. Over the 7 years since then, Jack has consulted on barn design projects for dairy farmers throughout Canada and in the USA. DairyLogix designs have also been built in Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Estonia with the support of partners working in these countries. Although we design for all types of barns, our speciality is robotic milking barns that maximize cow comfort and labour efficiency.

Jack is also a certified CowSignals trainer. He regularly conducts workshops on observing and analysing cow behaviour to assess herd management and housing. He also lectures extensively on robotic milking, dairy farm automation and precision technologies, and other topics such as stray voltage and mineral quality of livestock drinking water.

Harold House retired from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Extension Service, in 2015, and has joined Jack at DairyLogix. Harold brings over 30 years of experience as an advisor in dairy cattle housing to the team. He is well known for his expertise in housing for dairy calves, ventilation systems, and manure handling systems. Harold is a Dairyland Initiative Certified Consultant for designing youngstock supplemental positive pressure tube ventilation systems.

Harold is available for both design work for new construction and renovations as well as problem solving for existing facilities. Harold also has expertise in housing beef cattle, goats and sheep.

Nick Hiemstra - The "youngster" on our team graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Engineering and Management in 2015. He worked in both structural precast as well as structural engineering in the agricultural market before starting DesignLogix Engineering in 2018. His ability to provide stamped engineered drawings as well as his onsite practical construction experience adds a new dimension to our capabilities.
